The 2017 Joe DiMaggio Celebration Award Dinner has a new date and venue this year at The Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, April 5. Once again the joint celebration and fundraiser will be a CCF partnership organized by CCF President Angelo Vivolo and CCF Member Msgr. Jamie Gigantiello from the Futures in Education (FIE) organization. Futures in Education is a fellow non-profit scholarship organization that provides Catholic education scholarships to deserving students in need in Brooklyn and Queens.

Net proceeds from the event will go to a Columbus Citizens Foundation scholarship in DiMaggio’s name and FIE.

This year’s Honoree is MLB sports legend Bobby Valentine. Mr. Valentine is a Stamford native with 10 years as an MLB player with the Dodgers, Angels, Padres, Mets, and Mariners. After retiring as a player, Mr. Valentine became a successful restaurateur, television sports analyst, minor league and major league coach, and manager for the Rangers, Mets, Red Sox, and the Pacific League of Japan’s Chiba Lotte Marines. As a philanthropist, Mr. Valentine helped found the Mickey Lione, Jr. Scholarship Fund for Stamford sophomores. Since 2013, he has held the position as the Executive Director of Athletics at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield Connecticut.

Tickets will be limited. More information below.  RSVP also available at the Futures in Education website.
