How to Help
Every year, the Columbus Citizens Foundation provides critical scholarship assistance to hundreds of students from the Tri-state area who are of Italian descent. The Foundation, a 501(c)3 charitable institution, gives students the chance to secure a quality education that will benefit them, their families and their communities.
During the 2008-2009 academic year, our scholarship programs are providing financial aid to 800 students, each of whom is academically and financially deserving. Please consider the following:
- Applicants must provide certified tax-related documents, that demonstrate financial need, to an independent financial service reporting agency in order to qualify for scholarship assistance;
- Those in high school and college must also document academic achievement and community service activities;
- All of our scholarship recipients are receiving financial aid from at least one other source;
- Our financial aid funds go directly from the Foundation to the colleges and universities on behalf of the students;
- Members of the Columbus Citizens Foundation, themselves, have donated over $8 million to the Foundation’s Adopt-A-Scholar Program since its inception in 2001;
- All gifts are tax deductible and will go toward our General Scholarship Fund
